Going with PHP - My own CMS
April 03, 2009: Its too much work to maintain the site with static html. Now I have 4 pages for this site and when I want to do a common modification, I have to do it in 4 html pages. Like yesyterday when I added my new contact link to the page I had to modify all 4 pages to add that. It'll go crazy with more pages added to the site.
So, I am going with php. I have changed all 4 pages to be generated by php scripts. The main design will come from a common php file and if I need a design change I have to modify ony the common file and that will be applied to all pages. Great little Content Management Syatem. I have to include an article in my Web Development Guide.
Tracking Data Installed
April 04, 2009: Finally got the tracking core install. Its actually very easy with Google Analytics. Just pasted the code generated by Google Analytics in the footer section of the page and thats it. I can now log into my google account to see the visitor statistic. I think its better than doing by the visitos-map-ip plugin of Wordpress that I use for most of my sites. May be I will plan to change them soon.
Bangla Lekah - Amar notun Cheshta
April 07, 2009: I have created a new web page @ http://bangla.pradipbiswas.com with some bangla content. Unlike other bangal websites it will not install any special font to your computer or change any setting. It was done using unicode characters that can be visible with any browser (not text browser like lynx). Developing a page like this a bit time consuming, but its new way of development. Wiki added to the site
April 09, 2009: The latest addition on the website is the Wiki. I used the most popular wiki software "Media Wiki" for my site. I have also designed a cute logo for it. Please check out the wiki and your own page to it. Thanks.
